Nitnem is a compilation of various banis that are intended to be recited by Sikhs on a daily basis. The Nitnem banis typically include the Panj bania (the five banis listed below) and occasionally Rehiras Sahib and Kirtan Sohila.
Practising Sikhs usually recite the following banis every day:
- Japji Sahib
- Jaap Sahib
- Tav-Prasad Swaiye
- Chaupai Sahib
- Anand Sahib
- Rehras Sahib
- Kirtan Sohila
- Ardas
The first five banis are typically recited in the early morning, while Rehiras is recited in the evening around 6pm. Kirtan Sohila is recited just before bedtime.
The app offers the following key features:
- Users can listen to the banis using soft keys for play, pause, or stop.
- Meanings of the banis are provided on every page.
- Text size can be adjusted within the app (increased or decreased).
- Users can select the language of the banis from Gurmukhi and Hindi.
- The app can be shared with friends and family.
- Themes can be changed by the user.
- Users can use the "Go" option to quickly navigate to any page.
